University of Virginia Writing Coach and Career Services Advisor in Charlottesville, Virginia
The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy is hiring a Writing Coach and Career Services Advisor. This position will be responsible for serving as the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy's writing instructor as well as working in the Career Services office to support Batten undergraduate and graduate students in preparing materials for their internship, job, or graduate school search. This position will have dual reporting to the Director of Academic Programs and the Director of Career Services.
Academic Affairs responsibilities for the position include teaching 3 sections of PPOL 3001, holding office hours for writing consultation, providing writing workshops during Pre-Batten and throughout the year and serving as a resource to faculty teaching writing intensive courses. Career Services responsibilities for the position include editing applications for internships, jobs, and graduate school, as well as working with students to craft personal statements and professional bios and review job application materials (e.g., cover letters, resumes).
This is a 10-month position (with fringe benefits) that offers an August to May work schedule. The position will be on leave without pay during June and July.

Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, Public Relations, English or related field.
