Entry level sales position for Wells Fargo Rail (WFR). Responsible for: developing revenue opportunities with emphasis placed on identifying, developing, and managing relationships with brand new and assigned customer accounts; for keeping assigned portion of WFRs existing portfolio on lease and developing acquisition and sale opportunities. Where appropriate leverage senior TMs to help close identified revenue oppts.

Responsible for:

Contacting new and existing assigned customers, identifying opportunities, and working with appropriate internal staff to develop and close transactions. Must have determination to close sales and build lasting relationships with new and established customer accts. Manage the renewal and remarketing operating lease process for assigned customers which includes the proposal, pricing, negotiation of all business terms and conditions as well as review of lease documentation. Inside sales support. Contact new or past customers by cold calling, identifying potential pportunities, setting up appointments, and working with appropriate sales person to develop and close transaction. Minimizing (where appropriate) WFRs financial risk through lease structure, use of controlled marks, prepayment of rent, LOC, guarantees or shifting assets to stronger credits Reviewing equip specs with customers to ensure equip meets their requirements. Work with customers and WFRs mech and eng staff to evaluate feasibility of repairing or modifying surplus or commercially undesirable equip in order to get cars back on rent and improve utilization. Facilitate resolution on equip maintenance or conditional concerns or problems that may arise with customers and WFR mechanical staff during term of a lease or at lease end. Establish and maintain relationships with competitors, suppliers and manufacturers as potential sources of both market intelligence and placement or acquisition oppts

Assist Collection in collecting past due amts from delinquent customers.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of financial services experience, sales experience, or a combination of both

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in railcar leasing or railroad operations

  • Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with customers and internal partners

  • Railroad experience including knowledge of railcar designs, usage, and operations

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Outstanding problem solving skills

  • Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
