The Boeing Company Customer Training Specialist in Fairfax, Virginia

Boeing is looking for a Customer Training Specialist who will develop and maintain system-level technical and training documentation, lead training events, and perform operational tests for integrated SIGINT systems. You must have the ability to research and retain system-specific information and communicate (orally and written) system knowledge across all organizational levels for multiple programs. Ideally, you will have a shipboard (afloat) SIGINT background (as a CTR, CTM, or equivalent) with experience developing and delivering technical courses.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Function within a dynamic, fast pace team environment

  • Concisely interpret and translate engineering and logistics documents and system functionality into materials suitable for entry-level technicians and non-technical system users

  • Understand, interpret, and restructure technical information for a variety of audiences and applications

  • Review and modify existing technical and training materials (both web and print-based) to maintain technical currency

  • Create new and modify existing instructional materials using a variety of development tools (e.g., Madcap Flare, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and Adobe Photoshop)

  • Lead classroom instruction by preparing and performing classroom lecture and laboratory training activities either in-house or at customer sites

  • Challenge existing training standards and help the entire program team find innovative and cost saving approaches to improve our service to the SIGINT community

  • Assist the system production and software development teams by supporting test activities (e.g., quality assurance and factory acceptance)

  • Deliver hardware and software setup instructions to military operators and technicians, Government representatives, and various DoD contractors

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • Current and active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance

  • 1 or more years of experience operating or maintaining SIGINT systems, ideally within the last six years

  • 1 or more years of experience teaching technical subject matter in adult learning environment

  • Experience with facilitating/leading instructional design projects

  • MS Office skills that include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Capable to travel up to 25% of the time.

Preferred Skills:

  • Operational experience with Argon ST products (SSEE or Shockwave systems preferred)

  • Cryptologic Technician - Maintenance/Operator (CTM/CTR) experience

  • Familiarity with general technical writing principals and standards

  • Experience with web-based technical manual development

  • Familiarity with web technologies and languages (e.g. HTML, XML, Javascript, etc.)

  • Certified Master Training Specialist (MTS) or civilian equivalent qualification

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and typically 6 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
