Job Description

Negotiates a wide variety of contracts to include, but not limited to, affiliation/internship/externship agreements, real estate purchases, easements, leases, facility use agreements, memoranda of understanding, hotel contracts, software contracts, intergovernmental agreements, international academic agreements, consulting and service agreements.

Drafts contracts.

Interprets contract provisions to help resolve claims and questions submitted by contractor.

Assist in the evaluation of risk inherent in the contract and recommend appropriate insurance requirements.

Corresponds with contractors and departmental representatives regarding contract issues, status or negotiation.

Receives requests, updates records, initiates paperwork, prepares addenda, provides follow up and obtains approval for contract changes.

Prepares and edits contracts for signature by an authorized university representative using word processing or adobe software or typewriter.

Maintains records of correspondence related to contract activity.

Assists in compiling and preparing bid documents and bidders list, including requests for bids and proposals, vendor correspondence and processing paperwork for award.

Monitors contract file and prepares documents for contract renewal or cancellation.

Serves as liaison between assigned area and faculty, staff, administrators, and contractors regarding contracts.

Prepares complex reports as required for audit and administrative purposes.

Researches and evaluates new or changed laws.

Monitors and supervises activities of subordinates.

Participates in meetings and conferences pertinent to area of responsibility.
