Vince is looking for a high performing team player who is adaptable, personable, and results-oriented. The Human Resources Assistant will ensure the effective delivery of human resources policies, practices and programs for the Los Angeles corporate office, which hosts the design studio, product functions, and operations. S/he will ensure that critical and priority needs are met in a timely and effective manner to preserve business stability and a fair, equitable, healthy work environment. This individual will utilize a high level of proficiency and expertise in all areas of HR, and work with a degree of autonomy.
The Human Resources Assistant reports directly to the Director, Human Resources.
Provide support to functional leaders in employee relations, engagement programs, talent acquisition, corrective action procedures, and terminations.
Assist HR Director and the leadership team on all organizational / HR initiatives to ensure efficient, smooth and timely roll outs to the business; i.e. performance management, L&D, and succession planning.
Guide and educate associates in understanding the Company’s policies and procedures, benefits information and all other questions as they arise.
Lead event planning and implementation, to further develop and influence organizational culture.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with our philanthropic partner, Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood. Foster a culture of giving back by identifying opportunities which will spark excitement in our population; research additional organizations we can partner with based on employee feedback, identify and coordinate events we can participate in, volunteer day, etc.
Coordinate, process terminations and conduct exit interviews.
Liaise with Los Angeles hiring managers on temporary and full time employment needs as they arise.
Participate in full life cycle recruitment process; understand department needs, review org structure and budget, finalize job descriptions, screen candidates, and continue to partner through offer stage.
Interview local candidates as needed to assist and/or accelerate talent acquisition for Los Angeles based roles.
Support Talent Acquisition to spearhead our Internship Program in LA office. Ensure the program offers a meaningful experience for all participants. Look for opportunities to constantly improve and evolve.
Create internal communications for new hires in partnership with corporate communication and assist in communicating company policies and procedures to associates.
Assist hiring managers to create and execute a thorough onboarding plan for new hires, ensuring associates are set up for maximum success and are spending time with key partners within their department as well as cross functionally.
Benefits & Operations
Administer Benefits Program; assist employees with any benefits questions or concerns. Listen to employee feedback, constantly reviewing existing comprehensive benefits and identify new opportunities that best meet our populations needs (including medical, 401k, etc). and handle all benefit administration including group health insurance, vacation, sick, leave of absence, jury duty pay, 401k plan.
Administer FMLA/medical/personal leaves.
Monitor I-9 program administration and maintain an accurate filing system for all active and terminated employees.
Liaise with the Payroll department regarding new hires, pay discrepancies and follow up through to resolution.
1-2 years of experience full cycle HR delivery or related experience in the apparel industry
Experience in various other functions of Human Resources including but not limited to: Policy Management, Benefits Administration, Employee Relations, Recruiting, Compensation, Performance Management and Legal/Compliance is a plus
Opportunity for future growth in Human Resources as a generalist, or to align functionally with Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Learning & Development, Retail, or Payroll. Potential to transition in to a different function or relocate as desired.
