To provide an opportunity for undergraduate or graduate students interested in obtaining personal exposure in higher education by serving in an internship allowing the individual to gain broad exposure to and develop a better understanding of the variety of operations and services within the defined department at Vanderbilt.
What is the nature of the work the intern will be performing?
This intern will help establish a governance and review cadence for strategic initiatives.
Define measurable outcomes that will be used to determine success.
The goal of the program being setup is to assure progress and visibility for strategic initiatives. If we meet that goal, we will consider the internship a success.
What is the expected end result of this project?
The development of a repeatable process and cadence for IT strategy governance and review.
How will this project affect Vanderbilt University?
This will help us meet our strategic initiatives and leave behind a process that can be leveraged into the foreseeable future.
What will the intern gain from completing this project?
The internship will gain strategic planning, governance, and project management skills along with communication and presentation development experience.
What skills should the intern have prior to starting this project?
Microsoft Office - Excel, PowerPoint
Professional Etiquette - communication, email, etc.
What skills are desired for the position, but not necessary?
Creativity and design skills are a bonus.
What skills will the intern gain from completing this project?
They will get exposure to strategic planning, project and program management, and executive communication.
This position requires a High School diploma or GED.
