Description

Chemonics seeks a Curriculum and Instruction Manager for the newly-formed International Development Professional Training Hub (InDepth) initiative. InDepth is a hybrid knowledge sharing and learning platform for Chemonics’ global workforce. It will provide high-quality and dynamic content to ensure our global workforce is better connected, has work-related training at their fingertips, and is empowered to do their work efficiently and effectively. The Curriculum and Instruction Manager will work closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts from around the world in assessing learning needs, creating project plans for content design and implementation, and reviewing learning outcomes to adjust training content and plans for improved learning achievement. With the team director, this position supports planned changes occurring in business operations globally that impact learning or behavior change to build appropriate learning content and support tools for successful adoption. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.Responsibilities include:

  • Oversees curriculum team, including associate and training coordinator, responsible for the planning, maintenance, development (with Instructional Designers), and implementation of global learning curricula, utilizing best practices in adult learning and technical expertise in learning management

  • With the team director, develops overall strategy for dissemination of existing home office training programs to a global audience

  • Facilitates strategic discussions and trainings including: team building sessions, retreats, work planning and conflict resolution throughout the company

  • Manages relationships with relevant subject matter experts around all areas of learning program including needs identification, training content design and development, implementation, and evaluation, as well as in informal learning and knowledge sharing

  • Leads meetings with subject matter experts to help identify and prioritize new training content pipeline

  • Manages overall training project plan including timeline, liaising closely with instructional designers and instructional technology team to ensure timely and successful launch and evaluation of training content

  • In collaboration with co-manager, sets processes, structure, and resources for classroom based training worldwide including instructor support and preparation

  • Manages the Entry Level Professionals (ELP) program, including tri-monthly event facilitation, mentoring of ELP members, and providing administrative backstopping of team associates when needed

  • Builds and maintains technical knowledge in adult learning, instructional design, instructional technology, and training delivery by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies

  • Actively participates in new business activities, including proposal teams, and being provided technical input related to training and development proposal efforts

  • Supervises direct report(s), delegating and managing workload while supporting their professional development

  • Fosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation and exceeding expectations

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of management and/or technically relevant work experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required, Master’s degree in relevant field preferred

  • Supervisory experience preferred

  • Facilitation experience in cross-cultural contexts and among senior-level staff required

  • Ability to think creatively and contribute to the team’s overall vision of a globally accessible training platform

  • Flexibility and an ability to adjust to changing priorities and targets preferred

  • Willingness to adapt to the changing needs and pressures of the team with composure and ingenuity

  • Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design

  • Experience in supporting the implementation of a company-wide training program

  • Knowledge/awareness of best practices of in adult learning, blended learning and development program design and management in developing country contexts preferred

  • Ability to liaise with global stakeholders across the company from all levels, executive to entry-level

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Experience managing workflow with minimal oversight, in a fast-paced environment with multiple partners and evolving priorities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
