Toys ‘R Us is looking for experienced Digital Category Manager with a passion for driving profitable sales in an Omni-channel environment. The Digital Category Manager will work closely with the Executive Director of Digital Merchandising and will provide day to day direction and development to a team of 2 to 3 digital category specialist. In this role you are responsible for driving the digital strategies in your respective division in partnership with the Executive Director, Digital Category Manager and cross-functionally with Merchandising, Marketing, Site Operations, the Supply Chain, and our Customer Care teams. The Digital Category Manager will ensure the online merchandising strategy aligns with the Toys ‘R Us overall merchandising and ecommerce strategies.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Translates the in-store division and overall e-Commerce strategy and incorporates into the online experience, including the visual display of the category pages and category-specific taxonomy, navigation, and search experience.
Responsible for reviewing site by ensuring all SKU's are set up accurately with a “complete" status for online, including naming convention, product attributes, product categorization, key words, SEO Support, and site search.
Partner with a Divisional Category Managers to optimize online merchandising to grow sales within the division and overall e-Commerce strategies.
Recommends changes of divisional online strategies to leadership on weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis based on results of site analytics & promotional review
Analyze sales, margin, in-stocks, traffic, and KPI’s in support of digital merchandising execution
Manage daily ecommerce sales and website traffic reporting and deliver trends to merchant team
Develop / distribute site merchandising scorecards & prescribe corrective actions
Work with the analytics team to measure the performance of marketing campaigns and create benchmarks for future performance
Identify unique, underdeveloped, emerging or new, products or categories, based on statistical analysis, competitive landscape, customer feedback, and web analytics
Bachelor's Degree and related experience
Minimum of 6 years in retail site merchandising, ecommerce buying or project management
Experience in ATG and Endecca desired
Understanding of the role of SEO in content merchandising
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with bias for action
Proven quantitative & analytical skills; able to quickly assess & summarize reports from multiple sources for an executive audience
Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills
Detail oriented and organized, with the ability to adapt, prioritize, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Demonstrated sound business judgment and strong decision making skills
Understanding of retail ecommerce landscape, including “best practice” features and functionality
Familiarity with site analytics tools (e.g., Omniture) a plus
